GCU KSK is not going to be sub campus. It will be the main campus.
It's similar to shifting of UVAS Lahore to PATTOKI.
I am going to discuss this issue in following certain points.
1)Lack of area & infrastructure:
After 3-5 years, not a single degree will be offered at UVAS LAHORE campus. All the degree programs and new admissions will be made at UVAS PATTOKI. Same is the case with GCU LAHORE. LAHORE campus has not enough room to support greater number of new admissions. In order to increase the number of admissions, there is a
2)Less number of admissions:
As stated earlier, The other benefit that shifting will have is increase in number of admissions by 40% in each and every degree. Since, the graph of students who pass intermediate is increasing every single year. Due to very fewer seats in Government universities, students are bound to get admission in private universities which are too much expensive that not everyone can afford their expenses. The Universities of Pakistan should be capable of holding such enormous amount of students.
3) Availability of Hostels:
At current situation, Government College University Lahore lacks sufficient hostel facility. The students that are not residents of Lahore and are studying in Government College University Lahore need proper hostel facility. The only hostel that is available for undergraduate students is new hostel of Government College University. Other hostels that includes Iqbal HOSTEL and Quaid e Azam hostels are for intermediate students. New hostel has the ability to hold only 300 residents. The count of students that are studying in government college university Lahore from other areas of country is much larger than the residential capacity of new hostel.
So, the question that why University does not build new hostels? The answer is that there is not enough space to build new hostels. The area in which government college university lies is very crowded. Due to all these circumstances the students or boarders are bound to live in private hostels.
The shifting of University to Kala shah Kaku will provide enough space and area to build new hostels that meet residential needs of students and will be enough to provide residential facility to number of students that will get admission.
There are many factors that can be discussed here but I Think it's enough to clear you ambiguities.
4) Quality of CS program
Yeah it's true that GCU CS doesn't compete the standard of NUST, PIEAS, GIKI, PUCIT, FAST, ITU, UET, LUMS. But first see what options you have. If you have options of BZU, UAF, GCUF, IUB, PMAS ARID, IIUI, UCP, AIR, BAHRIA etc... Then compared to all above, GCU LAHORE is much better.
If you have an option for NUST, ITU, FAST, GIKI, PUCIT, UET and also you can afford their expenses, then go for them.
dire need of greater infrastructure. IN GCU LAHORE, almost all the area is filled with building. Only OVAL GROUND is left. So do you think is that a good thing. See the infrastructure of QAU ISLAMABAD and NUST. They contain almost whole sectors of local area. They are called universities. Every department is KM away from other there in QAU & NUST. GCUL only supports an international class college. The university section is extra here. So in order to solve it and to provide the enough area that a university requires, govt. has allotted 370 acres to GCUL in KSK as. 500-600 acres to UVAS in PATTOKI. It's similar to shifting of UVAS Lahore to PATTOKI.

Good news for BSCS candidates
Who cannot perform well in exams.... You can also apply again.... Registration is going to start on 4th August....
The reason behind is that it is first time computer based test in gcu.... And test is too difficult and student can't perform well in exams and time management is too bad.... But now it is golden opportunity for all to perform well in exams.😊
